US BANK and the APSU DEPARTMENT OF ART presents
2010 OPEN EXHIBITION
calling all artists
living in Montgomery County and surrounding areas.
The Open Exhibition @ the DAC Gallery is an opportunity for all artists (over 18) living in Montgomery County, Tennessee to exhibit and sell their work, and to help raise money for college art scholarships. To date, thirteen art majors at Austin Peay State University have received the US BANK SCHOLARSHIP; numerous artists from the Clarksville community have been honored for their creative achievements by monetary awards presented at the Open Exhibition. US Bank, the APSU art faculty, and the membership of the Downtown Artists Co-op thank you for your support and encourage your participation in the 2010 Open Exhibition.
ENTRY FEE
There is an entry fee of $10.00 / only one work of art per artist may be entered.
ELIGIBILITY
Residents (18 years and older) of Montgomery County and surrounding regions may submit one work of art in the amateur or the professional division. APSU art faculty are welcome to submit work to the exhibition but will not be considered for awards. All entries must be original and not previously shown in the Open Exhibition.
SPECIFICATIONS
There is no limitation on the size of entries. All two-dimensional work should be framed under glass or plexiglass. Submitted work must be prepared for presentation with hanging wire or other appropriate hardware attached to the work. Three-dimensional work should be assembled upon delivery to the DAC Gallery. All artwork which requires special handling must include specific instructions for handling and assembly.
AGREEMENT
1) Artwork may not be removed before the close of the exhibition.
2) The juror and the exhibition committee reserve the right to disqualify any entry that fails to meet the criteria stated in this prospectus.
3) Artwork must be removed from the gallery at the time stated in the exhibition schedule.
LIABILITY
Reasonable precautions will be taken when handling entries. The Downtown Artists Co-op, however, cannot assume liability for the loss or damage of artwork submitted to the exhibition. Artists are encouraged to arrange for private insurance to protect their work during the time of the exhibition. The DAC Gallery will not be responsible for any work remaining beyond the scheduled pick-up time.
DELIVERY / RETURN OF WORK
All artwork must be hand delivered and picked-up at the time and date listed in the exhibition calendar. Artwork will be released only to the artist or the designee listed on the entry form.
CATEGORIES
Amateur: artists who paint for their own pleasure –have not received a professional art college or university art department education.
Professional: artists who have received a professional art education and who regularly sell their artworks (includes college art students).

BEST OF SHOW amateur or professional – $300
FIRST PLACE amateur / professional – $200
SECOND PLACE amateur / professional – $100
THIRD PLACE amateur / professional – $50 each

CALENDAR
Saturday 3/27/10 entries delivered to the DAC Gallery 12 – 6 pm. The DAC is located at 96 Franklin St.
Thursday 4/1/10 for the Open Exhibition 5:00pm – 8:00pm awards to be announced at 6:00pm. Public Reception.
Friday 4/2/10 – Saturday 5/1/10 exhibition open to the public during scheduled DAC hours.
Sunday 5/2/10 All entries (except award winners) picked-up at the DAC Gallery, 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Monday 5/3/10 – Thursday 5/13/10 award winners on display at US Bank Public Square/Downtown Clarksville Office.
Friday 5/14/10 award winners picked-up at the DAC Gallery 12:00pm – 5:00pm.
